November Elections See Some Ballot Changes

The November 4 Election Day will see some changes on the SLH Ballot in the races for two seats on the Borough Council.

For the SLH Republicans, long-time resident Christopher M. Campion Jr. will replace Richard Diver, who is experiencing health issues. Campion will run with incumbent Councilman James Shuler.

For the third time in four years, the SLH Democratic Party has changed a candidate who ran in the primary. Wyckham Manor resident Cheryl G. Bartholomew replaces Julie LaForge, who ran uncontested in the June primary. Eileen Eilenberg remains on the ballot with Ms. Bartholomew.

According to the Monmouth County Board of Elections, independent candidates Patricia Cindea and Katherine Kelsey have dropped out of the race entirely. While currently serving as a Republican Councilwoman, Cindea was named “persona non grata” by the Monmouth County Republican Party for violating party bylaws. She was not recognized for a party line ballot position in the 2014 primary and chose instead to petition to run as an “Independent Conservative” along with Kelsey. Both candidates have now withdrawn their names from the ballot.
